Baseball Recap: Atlantic Coast Comes Up Short

After flying high against Oviedo last Monday, Atlantic Coast came back down to earth. The Atlantic Coast Stingrays fell just short of the Bartram Trail Bears by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Stingrays of the 4-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Atlantic Coast saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wade Surber, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Surber hit this season.

Atlantic Coast's record now sits at 8-6. As for Bartram Trail, they moved to 6-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Atlantic Coast will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Bishop Kenny at 6:30 p.m. Atlantic Coast is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Bartram Trail, they will venture away from home to take on Providence School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
