Baseball Game Preview: Prouty Panthers vs. Northbridge Rams

Prouty is 0-8 against Northbridge since May of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 3:30 p.m. Prouty has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Prouty is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Oxford, falling 13-2. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Meanwhile, Northbridge came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Indians as they made off with a 16-1 win. With that victory, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Jacoby Gallerani and David Scichilone did most of the damage at the plate: Gallerani scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Scichilone scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Miley, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Northbridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Northbridge's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Prouty, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
