Basketball Game Preview: Assumption Royals vs. Auburndale Apaches

Assumption hasn't had much luck against Auburndale recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Assumption Royals will be home for the holidays to greet the Auburndale Apaches at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Assumption will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Edgar, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Assumption slipped by Edgar 60-59 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Royals.

Meanwhile, Auburndale put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Newman by a score of 55-42. The 55-point effort marked the Apaches' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Assumption's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Auburndale, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Assumption was taken down by Auburndale 77-39 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Assumption avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
