Basketball Recap: Boonville Comes Up Short

Boonville came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Hallsville Indians by a score of 59-57 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pirates have suffered since January 30, 2024.

Boonville's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-7. As for Hallsville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Boonville will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on New Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. Hallsville will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against California at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th.
