Softball Recap: Orange Vista Has No Trouble Against Arlington

Orange Vista had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Arlington Lions by a score of 8-3. The match marked the Coyotes' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Ciera Overton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, Nevaeh Bachman and Lina Robles did most of the damage at the plate: Bachman went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Robles went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was Bachman's first of the season. Macai Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Orange Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington only posted a batting average of .280.

Orange Vista's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Vista will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Beaumont at 3:15 p.m. on March 4th. Arlington also won't see the field for a while: their next contest is against Moreno Valley at 3:15 p.m. on March 4th.
