Basketball Game Preview: Daniel Lions vs. Berea Bulldogs

The Daniel Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Berea Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Daniel is headed into Wednesday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. 2025 welcomed they with a 70-48 loss courtesy of Greer on Monday. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Daniel's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tristyn Carrington, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds, and Will Swann, who posted 11 points and eight boards. Carrington has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. James Epting was another key player, putting up five points.

Meanwhile, Berea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 67-58 to Seneca.

Daniel's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Berea, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Everything came up roses for Daniel against Berea in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, as the team secured a 74-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Daniel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
