Softball Recap: Corvian Community Takes a Loss

Corvian Community lost against Mountain Island Charter last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals lost 20-5 to the Raptors. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emily Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole five bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Amaree Joines was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Corvian Community's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Mountain Island Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Corvian Community and Mountain Island Charter will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Cardinals see the field they'll take on Langtree Charter Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Mountain Island Charter, their break will end when they face Bradford Prep at 5:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
