Basketball Game Preview: Petersburg Crimson Wave vs. Hopewell Blue Devils

Petersburg has won five straight games at home, while Hopewell has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Petersburg Crimson Wave will host the Hopewell Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. Petersburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Petersburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-47 to Matoaca. The loss continues a trend for the Crimson Wave in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Keenan Mason, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Jay'Vion Threatt was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Hopewell was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Matoaca 76-46. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Hopewell is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Petersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
