Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Ganado

Ganado had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Schulenburg Shorthorns. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 back in March.

Ganado got a big performance out of Austen Pena, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Pena has become a key player for the Indians: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-7-1 otherwise. Cain Hayden also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Ganado's record is now 7-8-1. As for Schulenburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Ganado will face off against Weimar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Schulenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
