League recap: Scott breaks off league-leading run for Northwest Guilford

4A Conference 8 recap September 10, 2013

Northwest Guilford's Keenan Scott rumbled for the longest rushing play in 4A Conference 8 this season in his game against Northern Guilford last week. Scott's team lost to the Nighthawks as he sprinted for 82 yards on the play and finished with 111 in all.

Ragsdale moved up to 123 from 151 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of beating Northeast Guilford 26-7.

Jameel Mack threw for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 17-32 with 2 interceptions.

Scott was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Anthony Harding added to the ground attack by rushing for 61 yards.

Rick Mack was the best receiver in 4A Conference 8 this week as Southwest Guilford lost to Ledford. Mack racked up 12 receptions for 201 yards. Justin Hensley helped Southwest Guilford's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 58 yards.

Mack put up the best numbers in passing as High Point Central topped Thomasville. Mack's favorite target this week was Charles Edmond, who caught 8 passes for 116 yards.

The Bison took down the Bulldogs 40-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mack ran for 97 yards in the win.
