West Albany has gone 8-1 against South Albany recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Redhawks at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

West Albany came up short against Sandy on Wednesday, falling 14-4.

West Albany saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kodi Carapinha 2026, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Campbell Akers 2027 also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, South Albany lost 15-8 to Aloha on Tuesday. Even though they lost, the Redhawks' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Alicia Martindale made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Maddie Angel, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

South Albany's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

West Albany was able to grind out a solid win over South Albany when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 9-6. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Redhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
