Baseball Recap: Heritage Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Heritage, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Leesville Road Pride on Friday. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Blake Tillery looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Heritage let Andrew Kilgore and Leighton Cash run wild. Kilgore went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Cash went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Kilgore a new career-high in hits. Daniel Aldridge also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The win got Heritage back to even at 2-2. As for Leesville Road, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Heritage will host Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Leesville Road, they will head out on the road to take on Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Jordan will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Leesville Road surely won't give up without a fight.
