Keystone dropped their record down to 13-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Medina Battling Bees by a score of 12-11. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Battling Bees 8-1 in the first period.
Keystone got a big performance out of Jordan Owca, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aralyn Gould, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Medina, their record now sits at 10-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.
On Medina's side, Addie Connelly made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Connelly was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Medina got a big performance out of Ryann Allar, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Kelsey Swinko was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Keystone didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 defeat against Wellington on the 10th. As for Medina, they have also already played their next match, a 21-0 victory against Cleveland Heights on the 10th.
