Baseball Game Preview: Copper Basin Cougars vs. Lookout Valley Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, Copper Basin will face off against Lookout Valley. The Cougars will take on the Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering Copper Basin has lost five straight at home (dating back to last season) and Lookout Valley six straight on the road (also dating back to last season), this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.

Copper Basin will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Lookout Valley, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 5-2 on Monday.

For Lookout Valley's part, Alexander Murasso spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on one hit and racked up 13 Ks. Murasso has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lookout Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cason O'Connor, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
