After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oscar Smith, Great Bridge was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed past the Lakeland Cavaliers to the tune of 48-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Great Bridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was William Englert out in front who threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Englert has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 0-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Qwanterius Tillman, who rushed for 124 yards and one TD.

Great Bridge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antonio Wilson, who picked up 36 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 44 yards.

The victory snapped Great Bridge's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-8 record. As for Lakeland, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
