Basketball Recap: Ogden Comes Up Short

Ogden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 63-52 to the Emery Spartans.

Despite the loss, Ogden still got an impressive performance from Jackson Maw, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 21 points and eight boards. The contest was Maw's fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Kirkland, who posted ten points.

Emery's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sitterud Porter, who went 10-for-16 on his way to 21 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Porter now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage. Conover Garrett was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Ogden's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Emery, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Ogden has already played their next matchup, a 58-55 defeat against Union on the 6th. As for Emery, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-60 win against Northridge on the 6th.
