Softball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short at Home Against Washington-Liberty

Edison unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Washington-Liberty Generals on Tuesday, falling 16-9.

Marley Jackson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jazmyn Roberson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-5.

Washington-Liberty's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edison is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on Wakefield School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington-Liberty, they will face off against McLean at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. This will be Washington-Liberty's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
