Recap: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans vs. Tonopah Valley Phoenix
In what's become a running theme this season, the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tonopah Valley 61-14 on the road. Given Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Tonopah Valley is ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Scottsdale Preparatory Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chloe Crandall, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Ellina Bilstrom was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy and bumps their season record up to 14-8. As for Tonopah Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Veritas Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Tonopah Valley, they will be playing at home against Yuma Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Yuma Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Wednesday.
