Softball Recap: Riverdale's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Riverdale won the last time they faced Lemon Bay and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Raiders walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Manta Rays.

Adrianna Manetta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ella Bundy was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Jamie Marie Penia was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Riverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lemon Bay only posted a batting average of .222.

Riverdale's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-9. As for Lemon Bay, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Riverdale will face off against Immokalee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lemon Bay, they will host Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Manta Rays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 20.4 runs per game this season.
