Basketball Game Preview: Sunnyside Wildcats vs. Sanger West Hornets

The Sunnyside Wildcats will head out to challenge the Sanger West Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnyside will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Sunnyside is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat McLane 54-21. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Sanger West was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 38-37 to Justin Garza. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Guardians 12-8 in the first quarter.

Sunnyside is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Sanger West, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Sunnyside came up short against Sanger West in their previous matchup on January 14th, falling 43-36. Can Sunnyside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
