Baseball Recap: Wahoo/Bishop Neumann Triumphs

Wahoo/Bishop Neumann and Douglas County West pushed the score to 15-6 the last time they played Douglas County West, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Warriors skirted past the Falcon 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted against the Falcon since May 12, 2018.

The result came thanks to Kaden Christen's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wahoo/Bishop Neumann let Jack VanSlyke and Isiah Nagle run wild. VanSlyke went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Nagle went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Wahoo/Bishop Neumann is 3-1 when Nagle posts three or more hits, but 7-9 otherwise.

The win got Wahoo/Bishop Neumann back to even at 10-10. As for Douglas County West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
