Football Game Preview: Pisgah Dragons vs. Raleigh Lions + Official Tickets

The Pisgah Dragons will venture away from home to challenge the Raleigh Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pisgah is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Union last Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Dragons were dealt a 35-6 loss at the hands of the Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 58th).

The losing side was boosted by Tavorian Smith, who rushed for 106 yards on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Meanwhile, Raleigh waltzed into their matchup last Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They enjoyed a cozy 40-22 victory over the Jaguars.

Pisgah's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Raleigh, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Pisgah was dealt a bruising 28-0 loss at the hands of Raleigh in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
