Recap: Tift County Blue Devils vs. Valdosta Wildcats
The Tift County Blue Devils were the 32-28 winner over the Valdosta Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Tift County received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 44-28 to Valdosta.
Despite the defeat, Tift County had strong showings from Corey Howard, who scored 4 points along with 11 rebounds, and Malachi Evans, who scored 4 points.
Valdosta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daylan Dixon, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Israel Jenrette, who scored 4 points along with 10 rebounds and 6 blocks.
Tift County's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Valdosta, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Tift County will head out on the road to face off against Coffee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Coffee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday. As for Valdosta, they will be playing at home against Cook at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
