Lanier hadn't done well against Mill Creek recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Longhorns came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 2-0. The Longhorns were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Hawks, so the Longhorns were just returning the favor.

Lanier not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Mill Creek between 18 and 19 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19.

Kaziah Vaughn paced Lanier's offense, picking up five kills. Vaughn got some help from Addy Gosselin and her 18 assists. Vaughn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Lanier has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Mill Creek, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Lanier will face off against East Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mill Creek, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Grayson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
