Baseball Recap: Lake Central Starts Season with Win Against Lowell

Lake Central took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They never let the Lowell Red Devils get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on ten straight dating back to last season.

Josh Flores looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Lake Central got a big performance out of Jake Figg, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Figg has posted since back in April of 2024. Dylan Hein was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Lake Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Valparaiso on the 8th. As for Lowell, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Highland on the 10th.
