League recap: Bentonville tops Rogers Heritage to extend winning streak

Bentonville extended the longest winning streak in 7A/6A West this week by beating Rogers Heritage, 48-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

Springdale was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Van Buren. The Bulldogs came in at 20 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.

Har-Ber's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Pianalto threw for 227 and four touchdowns and Nick Byrne had 90 yards receiving. On the ground Tucker Lee chipped in 69 yards. Gus Vitt helped Har-Ber's passing attack out by catching two balls for 62 yards.

The Wildcats' Pianalto and Byrne have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pianalto has thrown for 1051 yards this season, while Byrne, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 28 catches for 463 yards. Deandre Murray from Springdale leads the league in rushing with 845 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Har-Ber and Rogers. Chris Wood's team enters the game ranked fourth in the state, while the Mounties ranks 13th.

Shane Patrick's team and the Pointers played the most hotly contested game in 7A/6A West this week, with Shane Patrick's team eventually emerging with a 41-40 victory.
