Football Recap: Asbury Park Bishops vs. Metuchen Bulldogs
Asbury Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Metuchen Bulldogs. The Bishops were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.
Jason Woods was a one-man wrecking crew for Metuchen as he rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 138 rushing yards gave Woods a new career-high.
Asbury Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Metuchen, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Asbury Park will head out on the road to take on Manasquan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Metuchen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
