Recap: Palmetto Ridge Bears vs. Immokalee Indians
With a playoff game on the line, the Palmetto Ridge Bears rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Indians 75-49. The victory was familiar territory for Palmetto Ridge who now have five in a row.
It was another big night for Calven Charles, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Palmetto Ridge's points. Sean Gomez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Palmetto Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Immokalee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
Palmetto Ridge will face off against Gulf Coast at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palmetto Ridge is coming into the matchup with eight straight wins on the road, meaning Gulf Coast will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. Immokalee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
