Baseball Game Preview: Clinton Dragons vs. Gibbs Eagles

Clinton is 2-7 against Gibbs since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Dragons will face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Clinton's last matchup with Seymour could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Dragons lost 8-0 to the Eagles.

Oak Ridge hit Gibbs with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Wildcats, falling 6-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Gibbs' defeat dropped their record down to 18-10-1. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

Clinton came out on top in a nail-biter against Gibbs when the teams last played on Monday, sneaking past 9-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
