Baseball Recap: Richland Victorious

Richland hadn't done well against Stoutland recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bears walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Tigers. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered an 11-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

London Smith was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Richland: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Pallai, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Richland's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Stoutland, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland will take on Cooter at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stoutland, they will head out to challenge Newburg at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
