After a string of seven wins, Brandon's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Plant City Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since August 21st.

While Brandon was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Plant City's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-12, 25-14.

Plant City had a senior duo take command as Mimi Buikema had 21 assists and four aces and Maddie Vega had six digs and three aces. Buikema is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Yarelis 'Yaya' Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Plant City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Brandon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Riverview on the 8th. As for Plant City, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Robinson on the 8th.
