Softball Recap: Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers vs. Fairmont Senior Polar Bears
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Morgantown, Buckhannon-Upshur was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears. That's more bragging rights for the Buccaneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Becca Pastorius spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Avery Hamer was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Maddy Tucker was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
