Basketball Game Preview: West Branch Warriors vs. Carrollton Warriors

The West Branch Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Carrollton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

West Branch can't be too worried about heading out to take on Carrollton: they just beat Crestwood at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. West Branch skirted past Crestwood 56-53. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Red Devils are ranked 162nd).

Meanwhile, Carrollton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-36 victory over the Huskies.

Carrollton is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for West Branch, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-10.

West Branch couldn't quite finish off Carrollton when the teams last played on January 7th and fell 48-45. Can West Branch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
