Softball Recap: Ponchatoula's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four contests, Ponchatoula finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They lost 9-1 to the Kaplan Pirates. The Green Wave's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Ponchatoula saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faye Boihem, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Ponchatoula's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Kaplan, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ponchatoula will head out to face off against Mandeville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ponchatoula's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mandeville has averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Kaplan, they are taking a road trip to take on St. Thomas More at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
