Preview: Olympia Bears vs. Lake Stevens Vikings

The Olympia Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Stevens Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Olympia fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 14-10 win over Bellarmine Prep on Thursday.

Olympia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Coen Cronk led the charge by picking up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown. Cronk was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 66 yards.

Meanwhile, Lake Stevens had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Glacier Peak. The result was nothing new for Lake Stevens, who have now won six contests by 27 points or more so far this season.

Kolton Matson and Jayshon Limar were among the main playmakers for Lake Stevens as the former threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Limar hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.

Olympia's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Lake Stevens, their victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
