Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Catholic Comes Up Short

St. Joseph Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats, falling 8-1. If the Bruins were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

St. Joseph Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Burkes, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. The Bruins are 2-1 when Burkes posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-11 otherwise.

St. Joseph Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Presbyterian Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

While St. Joseph Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
