Softball Recap: Sandpoint Bulldogs vs. Boise Brave
Sandpoint was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 25th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 19-5 to the Boise Brave. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 13-0 to the Brave when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Sandpoint saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arah Stevens, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Another was Cadence Skibitsky, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Sandpoint's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Boise, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Looking ahead, Sandpoint will host Lakeland at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeland has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something Sandpoint will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Boise, they will head out to take on Capital at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boise's pitchers better be ready for this one: Capital has averaged an impressive 12.8 runs per game this season.
