Game recap: East Rowan High School Football Team bests Rockingham County

SALISBURY, N.C. - East Rowan (Salisbury, N.C.) overcame Rockingham County (Wentworth, N.C.), 29-12.

The Mustangs were up 9-6 at the half after taking the lead on a field goal in the second quarter.

East Rowan expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. ER scored two times in the third, including once on a Calvin Edwards touchdown run.

Edwards played well for the Salisbury school in the victory. The junior running back ran for one touchdown.



The Mustangs entered the contest giving up 22.3 points per game this year. East Rowan held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Cougars well below the 29.8 points it had been averaging per game.

The loss snapped Rockingham County's 2-game winning streak.
