Baseball Recap: Hialeah Educational Academy Takes a Loss

Hialeah Educational Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Florida Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Florida Christian Patriots by a score of 3-2. The Biggie were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

JEREMIAH ACOSTA was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Hialeah Educational Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was BRIAN BOLANOS, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was BOLANOS' first of the season.

Hialeah Educational Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Florida Christian, their record now sits at 8-5.

Looking ahead, Hialeah Educational Academy will welcome Hialeah at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hialeah Educational Academy is facing Hialeah at the right time seeing as Hialeah is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Florida Christian, they will take on Southridge at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southridge's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Florida Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
