Baseball Recap: Halstead Comes Up Short

Halstead lost against Haven on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dragons might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-2 to the Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Noah Diehl was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Halstead's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 0-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Carmichael, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Halstead's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Haven, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halstead will take on Hillsboro at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Haven, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hoisington at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
