Baseball Recap: Putnam City Pirates vs. Shawnee Wolves
Putnam City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Shawnee Wolves. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in March of 2019.
Jt Twillie was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Henry Plata, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Putnam City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-32. As for Shawnee, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-23 record this season.
Putnam City and Shawnee could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Pirates (ranked 285th) will meet Southmoore (ranked 94th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Shawnee will take on Collinsville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (254 vs. 30).
