Softball Recap: Mauston Takes a Loss

Mauston extended their losing streak to 13 on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-14. They lost 13-0 to the Adams-Friendship Green Devils. The Golden Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Green Devils from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Adams-Friendship, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games.

For Adams-Friendship's part, Riley Weaver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. Weaver has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kena Kirsenlohr, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Adyson Tosh also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Mauston has already played their next game, an 18-8 defeat against New Lisbon on the 9th. As for Adams-Friendship, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-1 loss against Almond-Bancroft on the 8th.
