Baseball Recap: Section Takes a Loss

Section had lost seven straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 7-16 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Pisgah Eagles by a score of 8-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 10, 2022, but that streak is no more.

As for Pisgah, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games.

For Pisgah's part, the team relied heavily on Mason Gass, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Gass a new career-high. Landon Shavers also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Looking ahead, Section will face off against Geraldine at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pisgah, they will take on Ider at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
