Basketball Game Preview: Springville Tigers vs. Corner Yellow Jackets

The Springville Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Corner Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Springville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.

Springville is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since January 30, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Moody by a score of 63-60. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, Corner opened the new year with a less-than-successful 42-32 defeat to Dora. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Springville's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Corner, they now also have a losing record at 10-11.

Everything came up roses for Springville against Corner in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Springville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
