Football Game Preview: Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights vs. Trinity Christian Eagles

The Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights will head out to square off against the Trinity Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Macon-East Montgomery Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Trinity Christian likes a good challenge.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Snook Christian Academy, who was ranked 18th at the time (Macon-East Montgomery Academy was ranked fifth). The Knights took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-6 win over the Eagles. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 36 points or more this season.

Brandon Fitch produced another solid effort throwing for 193 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushing for 57 yards and one score. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jon David Spires and Sam Wallace.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Escambia Academy, falling 72-42. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy will have to contain William Dooley as he made an impact in Trinity Christian's last game. He threw for 401 yards and five touchdowns. Dooley is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Trinity Christian's leading receiver Reid House was Dooley's top target yet again, picking up 200 receiving yards and one score.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Trinity Christian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Macon-East Montgomery Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 279 rushing yards per game.
