Metamora waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-13 win over the Limestone Rockets. Given the Redbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Rockets are ranked 392nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Metamora's record is now 6-1. As for Limestone, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metamora will head out to square off against East Peoria at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Redbirds are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Limestone, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Canton at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
