Baseball Recap: Vashon Island Comes Up Short

Vashon Island lost against Charles Wright two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pirates lost 8-1 to the Tarriers. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vashon Island saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Walker, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Sebastian Gallez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Vashon Island's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Charles Wright, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Vashon Island is set to take on their familiar foe Seattle Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Charles Wright will square off against rival Klahowya at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tarriers 1.5, the Eagles 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
