Volleyball Game Preview: Lincoln-Way West Warriors vs. Lockport Porters

Lincoln-Way West hasn't had much luck against Lockport recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Porters at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Lincoln-Way West sitting on four straight wins and Lockport on five.

On Wednesday, Lincoln-Way West beat Oswego East 2-0.

While Lincoln-Way West won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12.

Claire Murphy and Ellie Laack were among the main playmakers for Lincoln-Way West as the former had 17 assists and five digs and the latter had six digs. Murphy is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Meanwhile, Lockport sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Sandburg on Thursday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lockport who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-17, 12-25, 25-18.

Lockport found their leader in sophomore Emma Consigny, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Lockport's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Lincoln-Way West, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.
