Soccer Recap: Melrose Takes a Loss

Melrose lost against Arlington back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Red Raiders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spy Ponders. The shutout was out of character for Melrose seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Melrose's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6-2. As for Arlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-1-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Melrose will square off against rival Wakefield Memorial at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Arlington is set to take on their familiar foe Winchester at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
