Arlington hadn't done well against Cordova recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wolves 35-7. With the Tigers ahead 28-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Arlington found their leader in sophomore Rod Lucas, who threw for 212 yards and four TDs. Kameron Johnson helped Lucas out on the ground, rushing for 83 yards on only five carries.

The victory made it two in a row for Arlington and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points in those games. As for Cordova, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Arlington will challenge Houston at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Mustangs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Cordova, they will welcome Bartlett at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
